This comic is an adaptation of one page from P. G. Wodehouse’s novel Bernie Wooster Sees It Through. Pen and ink and watercolor on paper.
The overall plot is too convoluted to go into here, but basically: upper-class nitwit Bertie Wooster has climbed a ladder into what he thought was an unoccupied bedroom. Moments later the young lady’s boyfriend (and Bertie’s club-mate) catches Bertie in there, and is now lying in wait in the hallway. And Bertie’s escape ladder has disappeared.
